Norstar Modular ICS Release 4.0 Software (1999)

The Norstar Modular ICS targets businesses that use more than 20 telephones and require capabilities that allow for more power, more growth and more advanced applications. It can start as small as 4x32 (4 lines and 32 extensions). The Modular ICS can support analog or digital lines, including ISDN BRI and T1/PRI for high-speed voice and data applications. With XC software installed, Modular ICS capacity increases to 272 ports and supports integrated Companion wireless for full roaming capability.

Power supply is built in and field replaceable. The system has a built in connections for music on hold, loud speaker paging and relay contact for auxiliary ringers. Three 50-pin male amphenol connections for interconnections cables for the stations and lines the amphenols are also used for connection of external devices such as Music on Hold source, loudspeaker paging and a relay contact for auxiliary ringers.

It will grow in both sizes as functionality, so your initial investment is always protected. Norstar Integrated Communications Systems offer a portfolio of telephone/key systems, with solutions for small-to-medium businesses and branch offices, The Norstar Modular ICS can start with just a few incoming lines and telephones and grow to up to 272 ports (224 stations) in various combinations of lines and expansion levels, including 60 Companion wireless telephones.

Voice Mail, Call Center Applications, integrated mobility, Internet access, ISDN and Desktop CTI are just a few of the options that can be added to the system for greater service to your business. All additions to the system integrate seamlessly into the operation of the MICS system.

The administration or the programming can be done from any extension on the system with M7310 phone or a larger phone Or by using a computer with NRU (Norstar remote utility) software and connect to the FastRad either directly through a serial connection or remotely using a line.

ISDN Primary Rate Interface (PRI)
The existing ICS DTI card is reused by configuring it with a software key (PRI enabler) to give it ISDN-PRI functionality .PRI using existing Digital Trunk Interface DTI (T1) card You can accomplish PRI interoperability with equipment that are National PRI ISDN-2 (NI-2) compliant, using NI-02 interface on Norstar equipment such as Lucent 5ESS, GTE-GTD5, DMS-100, DMS-10 and Siemens EWSD, Lucent Definity G3 PBX.

You can have interoperability DMS-100 central office not only using NI-02 interface but also DMS-100 custom interface. This is dependent on what your service provider has provisioned; DMS-100 custom (PRI (NI-1) or National PRI ISDN-2 (NI-2)

Name and Number blocking.
A feature code blocks the outgoing name and number information. Dialing Plan for handling all outgoing PRI calls. Processes enbloc dialing, call by call services. Capable of transmitting the telephone number and internal set number of a calling station dialing 911 to the Public network.

New software upgrade tool

  • Allowing upgrades from earlier versions of MICS to MICS 4.0.
  • Direct Inward Dialing (DID) enhancements (multiple target line appearances).
  • Multiple target line appearances of the same target line on the same set.
